2009.04.21. 3rd season in full swing

The third season of the Maritime Ringette League started on April 13th. A total of 16 games were played by the seven high school teams in the first week alone.

Coming out in front of what looks to be the strongest pairing of teams the league has seen to date were last year's regular season leaders, Mathieu-Martin of Dieppe/Memramcook (6-0), and 2008 League Champion Louis-J.- Robichaud (4-1) of Shediac. The first matchup between these two teams was a very close game with Mathieu-Martin coming out on top by a score of 5 to 4. Clément-Cormier, runner-up during the 2008 Championship, came out of the first week with a winning record (3-2) followed closely by Moncton (2-2) and Riverview (1-3). Fredericton and ESrN played very well and saw many close games over the weekend but have yet to register wins (0-4).

The short four week season will see many of the best young ringette players from New Brunswick battle out for the title of best high school aged team in the Province on Saturday May 9th, 2009 at the KC Irving Center in Bathurst.

2009.02.12Commissioner's Welcome Message

Plans are being finalized for the Maritime High School Ringette League's third season.

Teams have confirmed from Bathurst, Bouctouche, Fredericton, Shediac, Dieppe, Moncton and Riverview. Miramichi has shown interest but there is no confirmation yet.

Tryouts are scheduled to begin immediately after the provincials on March 22nd. The championship game should be held shortly before Mother's Day on May 10th.

I am pleased to announce that the Honorary Chair of the Maritime Ringette League has let her name stand again this year. Roxanne Reeves, wife of Premier Shawn Graham, is proud to support the continuing development of this mostly female sport and the personal growth opportunities provided to the players.

We are looking forward to another exciting spring ringette season.

And in a very recent development, on behalf of everyone involved with the Maritime Ringette League, we wish to congratulate Joëlle Proulx of Dieppe and Jessica Snowdon of Moncton on their selection to represent New Brunswick and Eastern Canada at the World Ringette Championships in Prague, Czechoslovakia, August 4th - 8th.
